‘Master Class - Painting a GHOST FOREST’
Duration: 10HRS:46 min
This is an extensive instructional video on creating a studio painting from start to finish. The subject of this workshop is an image of a forest burn in Northern Canada depicting the cycle of life. The workshop is intended to hone students' painting skills and expand their creative language. Emphasis is placed on risk-taking, abstract design, and mark-making – all three necessary components to take one's work to the next level and create a unique creative signature.
This workshop aims to unlock true creative potential, open up the possibility for purer, more honest, and unique brushwork, and establish a narrative symbolism in a painting.
Expert instruction from Dominik will encourage you to explore new possibilities and work more intuitively, allowing unplanned marks and passages to become artistic breakthroughs.
Throughout the workshop, composition, drawing, value, colour theory, and contour treatment are constantly emphasized as you progress into the painting.

‘PAINTING FISHING VILLAGE, ECUADOR’
Duration: 6HRS:21 min
Have you been to the beach lately?
Let me take you along to South America as we discover and paint this small fishing village along the remote coast of Ecuador.
You will be working based on the plain air sketch and photographs done right on location during recent Dominik’s journey to South America. This time we will combine architectural elements of landscape with natural forms to create a successful narrative and capture the essence of the location.
The dynamic power of composition and color will be the beginning of this adventure. Working from provided photos, You will create few drawing thumbnail sketches focusing on key areas including light and dark values, edges and lines as a warm-up to composing a dynamic composition.
Moving on to decide which “thumbnail” to use will be a start of the concept development, then progressing on to compose the subject in a larger drawing, working out further ideas and individual details. Once the familiarity with the subject matter will be achieved, we will begin painting on large canvas or panel.
Throughout the workshop, composition, drawing, value, colour theory, and contour treatment are constantly emphasized as you progress into the painting.
Don’t miss this unique opportunity as Dominik takes you along of the beaten path to paint the rugged and warm coast of South America!
