Original painting based on the expedition to Nahanni Mountain Range in eastern Yukon. The scene depicts light of early evening which moves across the landscape turning the mountains into shades of blue, contrasting beautifully with tundra orange below . This complementary contrast always plays a big role in the achievement of dynamic activity in most of my compositions.
The form simplicity of scene provided me with opportunity for abstraction, and with mainly eliminating the sky, giving a viewer sense of surprise and wonderment.
